August 28, 2014 – Beware of Email Scammers!

Sorry I haven’t been around for a while – but I’m back now!

This is something bothering me for quite a while – email scammers taking advantage of you really bother me.

Beware of emails sent proclaiming they are some great place and you won money, a prize, job etc. When you respond the next step is asking for your personal information INCLUDING your bank information. Even if you just give them the bank name you’ve compromised your account. So, just read everything very carefully and don’t get caught up in these scammers web of deceit.

Remember, any questions don’t hesitate to contact me!

Enjoy the beautiful weather.

January 24, 2014 – Smart Phones or not?

Did you ever have a problem trying to tap on the screen of your smart phone to no avail? You just can’t answer the call or the text won’t write correctly. Well the problem seems to be the temperature of your fingers. Believe it or not. During this bitter cold winter many people have complained their smart phone is not responding correctly. So, being me, I did the research and walla it is the temperature of your fingers.

So warm those fingers up before you try using your smart phone. You can also look into purchasing a pair of gloves with a smart phone sensitive index finger in the glove. These seem to work pretty well.

Remember, any questions at all don’t hesitate to contact me.

Stay warm,

June 26, 2013 – Passwords

Seems like everything we do now requires a password. I found a free program keep all your passwords safe and secure. It is called KeePass. You can download at It is an open source program you download to your computer or smartphone and stores 1000’s of passwords with one master password. It’s great! Just remember to make the master password a complicated one. Don’t use anything someone can guess because they know you or have checked out your social media pages.

Check it out and let me know what you think! Send me an email by clicking here.

Have a great Wednesday!

April 22, 2013 – Using

You receive an email warning you of a new virus. There is one going around, again. The email is being re-created with newer dates to scare people. This email started in July 2002. It is call the “life owner virus”. Warning you not to open it – because all your personal information will be taken from your computer and ruin your credit and so on…Well, whenever you receive one of these emails go to the website and check out the content by searching on the website. I guarantee most of what you receive is a scare tactic more than anything else.

Happy web surfing,

March 17, 2013 – Happy St. Patrick’s Day

windowsDid you know the Windows key on your computer can be used to perform a number of functions. For instance clicking the Windows key (has the flag logo) and holding it and tapping R opens the search function. This allows you to look for files or folders.

Also, quickly lock your computer by clicking on the Windows key and tapping L.

March 12, 2013 – Easy way to attach pictures to email

The best thing to always remember is the attachment icon may be a picture of a paper clip to click (hyperlink) or it may have the words “attachment”. It will ALWAYS be a clickable link. Click and find your picture in your library and click “open” to add to your email. Add the rest of your message and click “send”. This is especially for my computer class on Monday &, Wednesday night. Happy Tuesday.

March 5, 2013 – Sorry about not being around – I’ll be back every week!
